Dr. Margaret (Maggie) Martinez, CEO of The Training Place, has worked in the fields of learning, information, and technology for more than fifteen years. Previously she was the Worldwide Training and Certification Director for WordPerfect Corporation. Martinez is a respected consultant on adult learning methodologies and strategies, and is considered an expert in the area of learning orientation and intentional learning research - the study of how people learn differently and most effectively. Martinez plays an active role in helping organizations assess learner proficiency and design and deliver highly personalized learning solutions. She has provided leadership, insight, and perspective on adaptive learning issues important to the federal government and major corporations worldwide as they cope with diverse challenges--including rapidly changing business opportunities, moving learners on the Web, continual learning and performance improvement, and accelerated technological advancement.

Ms. Martinez' academic initiatives have focused on demystifying the world of learning and performance by pioneering individual learning difference and personalization research integrated with recent advances in the neurosciences. She uses the research to build blended learning frameworks and solutions that recognize, match, and support critical factors that influence how individuals can learn more successfully. This research explores the powerful impact of emotions and intentions on learning and performance and uses tools to assess online learning ability. She has a Ph. D. in Instructional Psychology and Technology, regularly presents at major conferences, and publishes in academic and trade publications. She is on Alpine Testing Solutions and the Advisory Board for Greater Arizona Elearning Association.
